66 – A Devotional Journey

This devotional book, which is now at the printers, is unlike any other that you may have already read. Why? It’s because this one was specifically prepared for those who want to enrich their knowledge of the Bible. Each day you will find a clearly focused snapshot of one book each day for a total of sixty-six days. That’s why I prefer to call it a “devotional journey,” because this book takes you on a “journey” through all sixty-six books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Whether you are an honest seeker after truth but not yet a Christian, or a new or longtime follower of Christ, this devotional book will provide you with a brief look at the historical and cultural setting at the time each book was written, as well the spiritual climate that motivated the writer to put pen to parchment.

Although they have their place in other devotional books, you will not find heart-warming stories or memorable quotations from famous, or infamous, people. What you will find is what I consider to be the most significant and meaningful passages of Scripture in each book, along with the essential connection between those passages and the application needed for our own lives today. Each devotional will end with a Prayer Focus for the day, allowing the reader, in the form of a prayer, to acknowledge the spiritual truths found in the book, and to ask God for His grace and strength to have those truths reflected in the reader’s life. Each day’s devotional is 2-3 pages in length, and for most people, it will take less that ten minutes to read. If you decide to pick up this book and begin your sixty-six day journey, my prayer is that it will not only increase your knowledge of God and His Word, but also change and enrich your life.

That’s all for today. May the Lord bless each of you as you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas season.
