We all experience those unexplainable events that enter our lives, and the Prophet Isaiah gives us a glimpse into the mind and heart of God as He revealed to Isaiah,
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord (Isaiah 55:8)
God is omniscient, that is, He is “all-knowing.” While our knowledge is limited to what we can see, touch, smell, and taste, God knows all things, past, present, and yes, even future. Although we have limited understanding, He knows the beginning and the end of all things. Isaiah continued speaking God’s words,
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).
God Himself used the imagery of the heavens being higher than the earth in order to illustrate the vast difference between His perspective and ours. As a result, God’s thoughts and ways are not bound by human logic or limitations. We must realize that God has a plan for whatever trial we may be facing, and that His purposes for allowing them to come into our lives are higher than ours.
In the end, God invites us to trust Him even though we may not immediately see or understand what He is up to. Let’s remember that His thoughts and ways are far above our own, and that His plans are both perfect and purposeful. We can rest in the assurance that God has a plan that is being worked out, even though we may not understand or see it at the present time. Let’s learn to trust Him for what He is doing, and if you haven’t been doing so, then why not begin this week?
God bless you.
