Remember!

This blog is written for those of you who may be in the midst of one or more challenging trials at the present time, and I hope to provide you will some wonderful promises for you to plant your feet upon. That’s why, in this blog, I’m calling all of us to REMEMBER ten amazing truths about God’s character and how we can respond to Him in our time of need.

Also, as a reminder, I have written this blog for you and as individual, and therefore instead of using my usual pronouns like “we” and “our,” I am using the pronouns “you” and “your.” I hope that it will be more meaningful as you dive into this blog that I have entitled “REMEMBER!”

  • ALL YOUR HOPE IS FOUND IN GOD – King David discovered that during any trial, the one thing for you to recognize is that all your hope for deliverance will come from God (Psalm 42:11). I am also reminded of what David said in another Psalm that “some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will trust in the name of the Lord our God (Psalm 20:7). And so, I encourage you to REMEMBER to place all of your “hope” in God, and in Him alone, and not in any other “hopeful” form of deliverance.
  • GOD IS NEAR TO ME — Regardless of what you may be going through, please be aware that God is near to the “broken hearted” and delivers those who are “crushed in spirit.” Make it a point to REMEMBER that He understands and will come along side of you during your time of trial and suffering (Psalm 34:18).
  • GOD IS WITH ME WHEREVER I GO – As he was getting ready to enter the Promised Land, God promised Joshua that He would be with him wherever he went. And as a result, he could move forward with the assurance that God would provide the strength and courage for all his needs (Joshua 1:9). So, REMEMBER that if you will put God first in your life, He will likewise provide all you need to move forward.
  • I CAN CAST ALL OF MY BURDENS ON HIM – It is important for you to REMEMBER that God is not aloof to your needs, but is always available to listen and come along side to comfort you during those difficult times. Like throwing a saddle on the back of a horse or donkey, you can “cast all of our cares upon Him” for the simple reason that “He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).” Furthermore, the psalmist tells us that if we will just “cast our burdens on Him, He will sustain us” (Psalm 55:22). And finally, if you take your burden to God in prayer, He will grant you the “peace that passes all understanding (John 14:27; Phil 4:6-7). And so, you can be assured that God will not only “care” for you, but He will also “sustain” you and give you His “peace” during your time of trouble.
  • GOD PROMISED ME REST WHEN I AM WEARY AND BURDENED – Challenging times cause stress and turmoil, but you can find “rest” if you will come to Him in faith, acknowledging your need for Him. So if you are weary and burdened with cares, REMEMBER that Jesus promised you “relief” and “rest” from your burdens if you will just “come to Him” (Matthew 11:28).
  • GOD GOES BEFORE ME AND WILL NOT ABANDON ME – Whatever crisis you may be facing, REMEMBER that God has promised that He will “go before you,” that is, He will prepare the path for relief and restoration and give you direction as you move forward, walking in faith (Deuteronomy 31:8; Hebrews 13:5-6).
  • GOD IS MY REFUGE AND STRENGTH– Like a strong tower or refuge built to repel the attacks of an enemy seeking to destroy you, REMEMBER that your help comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:1-2), and that He is your “refuge” who provides you with His “strength” so that you will be ready and able to face the challenges of life’s trials (Psalm 46:1).
  • GOD IS ALWAYS WORKING – It’s hard to imagine that in spite of the trouble you may be going through, God is working in and through every circumstance for “the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes” (Romans 8:28). When all hope seems to be fading, REMEMBER that God is always working (John 5:17) behind the scenes by moving the right pieces of the puzzle to bring relief and abundant blessings to you.
  • GOD’S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME – Even when you feel overwhelmed with trouble and pain, REMEMBER the comforting words that the Lord spoke to the Apostle Paul during his times of need, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9). So, even if you don’t see the “results” you were looking for right away, rest assured that God’s grace is sufficient to see you through each day.
  • GOD IS ABLE TO RENEW YOUR STRENGTH – Through the Prophet Isaiah, God made it known that “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, . . . But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faith (Isaiah 40:29-31). Therefore, you must always REMEMBER to place all of your “hope” for your future deliverance in the Lord, as He is the One who will give you the strength that you need to face the trials that you are facing.

May the Lord bless you as you acknowledge and REMEMBER these vital truths during times of trial.

Sincerely, Jim Price
